When Captain Jack Sparrow, aka Johnny Depp, aka my boyfriend wants to get away, he really wants to get away. Like, from everyone. So you do what any super famous and super rich actor (like Marlon Brando, say) would do, if that's the case, and you go and buy yourself an island. Johnny D. bought his little $3 million, 35-acres of paradise in the Bahamas about four years ago. And before you ask why, it's more like why not, when you're Johnny Depp, right? Peter Hoffman of The Huffington Post broke the news last week that the actor is now taking steps to convert his own private Shangri-La (which is officially called "Little Hall's Pond Cay" according to an article that first ran in Rolling Stone in 2005) to solar hydrogen energy. The conversion stands to cost $250,000, or more and hydrogen developer Mike Strizki, who created the nation's first solar-hydrogen house in New Jersey, is overseeing the project. And if he looked like Johnny Depp?
Well, that would have just been too special.
